Our company: History and mission
The company Thermote & Vanhalst was established in 1969 by Mr Paul Thermote and Mr Paul Vanhalst. It all began with the purchase, repair and sales of old army trucks. Today TVH is a global player in the forklift truck and aerial platform market.
TVH Rental Equipment is a part of Group TVH – Thermote & Vanhalst. The group counts four other, complementary divisions. The Forklift Division presents itself as thé specialist in new and used forklift trucks and aerial platforms.
The Parts Division controls the largest European stock of spare parts for lift trucks, aerial platforms and scissor lifts.
The Handling Equipment Division offers a complete range of internal transporting equipment.
The Service & Repair Division with its 55 mobile and 55 internal engineers are responsible for the service and repair of your lift truck.
The Rental Division started as a separate business unit within TVH halfway through the nineties. Before that, lift trucks were usually rented as a replacement for trucks being serviced or repaired. What once was the business of a handful of people and a modest fleet (a good 250 units in 1998) has grown into the TVH Rental Equipment Division. With 25 internal employees and 17 drivers, we now manage a rental fleet of 2,100 machines, of which 100 telescopic lift trucks, 750 aerial platforms and 1,250 lift trucks and warehousing machines. TVH Rental Equipment has branches in Waregem, Mons, Liège and Sint-Niklaas.
The range is composed of trucks of the most varied tonnage for the most diverse applications, and is systematically expanded and modernized.
The average life span is therefore only about 24 months. There are, for instance, the classic thermal and electric lift trucks with a capacity of 1 to 16 tons. For use in storage spaces we offer reach trucks, stackers and other warehouse equipment. The construction industry is only too happy to use our all-terrain lift trucks and tracked aerial platforms with a working height of 14 to 23 m. Furthermore there are various Manitou telescopic lift trucks, including rotating, with a reach of 7 to 21 m, and thermal and electric scissor lifts and aerial platforms with a working height up to 43 m.
That way we continuously expand our offer until we stock just about everything a customer could possibly need. Sometimes the working height matters, another customer might need a smaller turning radius, while for many the capacity is the most important feature. In addition to a varied range, we offer the customer up-to-date machinery and a flexible relevant service.
